Killing The Norm is a five-piece band, hailing from the Mt. Clemens region of Metro Detroit. The Band consists of Nick Bommarito (Vocals), Mike Rancilio (Guitar), Mark Loughead (Guitar), Jeff Gmerek (Bass), and Adam Sendek (Drums). This east side group is a hard rock/hip hop/metal Band with a strong following. With their Funk/metal inspired guitar riffs, their hip hop/punk influenced bass licks, their funky/precision double bass drum style, and their edgy, hip hop influenced vocals, they are almost always compared with the likes of Rage Against The Machine. Killing The Norm, took many shapes in the early stages before finally evolving into the five-piece it is today. The band has built a strong army of loyal fans over the last year, and are picking up more and more with every show that they play. The band played its first show in May of 2003 and has worked their way from little bars to large venues. Along with winning several “battle of the bands” competitions, the guys released their first CD entitled, "My Perception" in January, of 2004 and is already working on songs for there next album which is due out at the end of the 2004. Killing The Norms biggest shows to date are January 8th 2004, at the Emerald Theater, for the Detroit Choppers presents the B.R.I.C.K.K. Show sponsored by 101.1 WRIF and Budweiser, setting a new non national attendance record with over 1,200 people attending.
