about

Secretly scheming, sweating and simmering away in the heart of Melbourne, Killbot Kindergarten prepare to unleash their sophomore EP. Slowly and painstakingly, the duo scrapes sounds from their bedroom walls, packages them in holographic wrapping paper and, when the time is right, blows the whole load out of a cannon aimed at your face. Like a strawberry from Fukushima, the taste is fresh but definitely not organic. KK's upcoming release is inspired by their recent international exploits, from sold-out underground gigs in Berlin to secret shows in New York celebrity apartments, early morning Pringles binges in Las Vegas to sweat-soaked journeys through Marrakech alleyways. Add a soundtrack of West Coast hip hop, futuristic electro and a little Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and you'll start to get the picture. In the past, Killbot Kindergarten have attracted comparisons to a Jelly Belly-esque assortment of artists - Moloko, Prince, Bjork, Erykah Badu, Toro Y Moi, Sleigh Bells and The Presets. The duo gladly accepts this as a compliment - anything is better than being described as “quirky”.
