Singer Nico Goethals en composer Wim Arys started working together early 2002 and created their own unique rock sound containing elements of other genres. The result of their collaboration was a ‘wall of sound’ where keyboards, bass, drums and guitar merged together to make musical waves, worthy of the name (Phil) Spector. Because so many songs got binned during the recording process, they decided to replace his first name Phil by the word Kill, referring to the expression ‘Kill your darlings’, and call the band Kill Spector. Their recording career started when MTV networks Belgium general manager Michel Dupont and MTV head of programming Luc Van Laer heard their demo by chance and both loved it, so they passed it on to a brand new label of beer brewer Stella Artois called Stella Artois Music (SAMR). Meanwhile, the band had sent their demo to SAMR A&R scout Maurice Engelen (Praga Khan and Lords Of Acid) and he also selected them out of the hundreds of demo’s they received. They finally signed with the label in 2004. Their debut album called ‘Fused’ (SAMR 2005) was released on June 13th 2005 in the Benelux countries (distributed by PIAS). The 2 disk CD (CD2 with acoustic versions and remixes), offers a mix of new millennium rock and electronics.
