KiLHi+ICE was a gothic synthpop and darkwave band that received decent success in Japan. With a sound that is much more akin to American goth and industrial then Visual Kei music is, KiLHi+ICE is defined by it's melodic synth, extremely electronic and trance beats. TARAChan is known for her peaceful tone when singing, rarely if ever screaming or yelling, using effects on her voice do the work. KiLHi+ICE was formed in Tokyo in 1995, releasing their demo that same year. Upon reception of the album, enough fans were gathered to constitute a club tour, which went through several clubs until January 1996. In 1997, Le 7e Art was released, with about 3,000 copies being made. The next year, Keep Cool, their first major release, was pressed. The sales were great, and KiLHi+ICE would do four songs for the Enix PlayStation game グレイトヒッツ (Great Hits). In 1999, Analogue Fortune was released, which while not as strong of a seller as Keep Cool, still managed to have decent sales. Although the band was short lived and obscure, the albums are worth finding if you have the chance. With a very unique sound in the Japanese music world, KiLHi+ICE may even expose you to a world of music you never knew existed.
