Kick Back (born Ty Yakiwchuk) is a beatmaker from Edmonton Canada, born on April 10th 1989, now residing in The Netherlands. The first 10 years of his life were spent near the city of Vancouver, where he was first introduced to the hip hop culture by some older family friends who were like brothers to him. These 'brothers' were much older, in their late teens, and were constantly involving themselves in the hip hop culture one way or another. From graffiti, to skateboarding, to vinyl records, to hip hop shows like Yo! MTV Raps & Rapcity, all these things eventually helped KB learn what hip hop was. Being so young at the time, it was hard for KB to fully understand and percieve what the music side was, to him it was just something his 'brothers' loved and he looked up to them as role models so it stuck with him. Growing up his parents always had lots of vinyl laying around and he can even remember messing up his pops record players because he didn't know how to use them properly. There was a certain record from the 60s that had a drum break on it, and as a kid he liked the sound so much he would just spin the record backwards to hear the same loop over and over again, ruining the vinyl. He was unaware of that fact that he was diggin for breaks before he even realised what hip hop was, how it was made, or what tricks were used to find certain sounds. He also got a cheap kepboard for xmas one year with a percussion section and a loop function where he would just sit there al
