Fahey's long-lost Egyptian cousin. The pure scope of sound that this man coaxes out of his instrument is amazing, he's shredding on that thing. The longer pieces might wear out their welcome a bit by the end, but enough is done with the instrument to keep it interesting and the percussion certainly helps a lot. Technically, the most impressive thing here is the grasp of silence, Ali knows when to let a certain note or chord breathe, and the music is all the better as a result of that knowledge.
