In early 2005 a Yamaha Portasound 470 was Keymonster’s keyboard of choice and was the only instrument used in the band's debut album, Purple Truck Mistake. The album was banned throughout most of the world as opponents of the album argued that its inventive and radically-creative tracks threatened to change the outcome of the technological revolution. The opposition, however, did not stop fans from getting their hands on the album as Canadian-run underground music store owners successfully distributed millions of copies to hundreds of people in the United States and Europe. In November 2007, the band announced in a letter to the President of the United States that all Keymonster activity would terminate immediately.
