Born in Washington state but raised in New England, Kevy Nova has been playing music for longer than he can remember. His father, a drummer, dreamed of having a guitar playing son and supplied young Kevy with a plethora of musical toys. According to his Baby Book, on his second birthday he received his “1st set of drums, 3rd guitar & other various toys.” Kevy would often “sit in” at his father’s band practices, watching the guitarists and trying to mimic them with his little red toy guitar. At the age of ten, he started going to his father’s gigs to work the lights. At 13, he was allowed to control the P.A. and finally, at 15, he was asked to join the band. He spent the next three years honing his skills on guitar, bass and drums by gigging weekly in several bar bands until forming his first all original band at the age of 18. For the most part, Kevy learned music by figuring out songs from his parents’ record collection which consisted mostly of The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, The Moody Blues, Jefferson Airplane, Led Zeppelin and other bands from his parents’ era. Kevy would later fall in love with 90's alternative rock such as Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Jane’s Addiction, Primus, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alice in Chains and many others. He also has a deep love of and has studied classical music, film scores, funk, soul and blues. His own music is a unique blend of all these various styles. Now living in the San Francisco area, Kevy Nova continue
