Kevin Montgomery (born June 21st, 1968) is an American singer, songwriter. Kevin Montgomery was born in Nashville, Tennessee to parents Bob Montgomery, who was a songwriting partner and best friend of Buddy Holly, performing together as the duo "Buddy and Bob" while teenagers in high school, and Carol Montgomery, who was a session singer for stars including Elvis Presley and Bob Dylan. Kevin Montgomery's recording career began with his debut album "Fear Nothing" on A&M Records in 1993. He toured the US with acts including Sheryl Crowe, Stephen Stills and David Crosby and featured on a duet with Mary Chapin-Carpenter on the 1996 Buddy Holly Tribute album "Not Fade Away" singing his father's composition "Wishing", his father also co-producing the track. Building his profile as a songwriter, Kevin's track "I Won't Close My Eyes" was cut by Martina McBride on her double platinum selling "Evolution" CD in 1997. Later, Juice Newton took Kevin's song "Red Blooded American Boy" (changing the gender reference to 'girl') for her 1999 release, "American Girl". Kevin also sang backing vocals on Lee Ann Womack's "I Know Why The River Runs" for her platinum selling album, "I Hope You Dance" in 2000. 2000 was also the year which saw Kevin release "Another Long Story" on his own independent label Road Trip Records with production credits including Frank Liddell and Dusty Wakeman and musicians including Matt Rollings and Doug Pettibone. The video for the track "Let's All Go To California"
