I have been an amateur guitarist for over 30 years. I play mostly to entertain myself or to show off for others. Most people say I'm pretty good and seem to like what they hear. Most of the songs I have written over the years are instrumental solo guitar pieces. In fact up until recently I only had only 2 or 3 songs in my collection with lyrics. I recently bought an acoustic bass guitar mainly because it was so cheap and I thought it might be fun. All of a sudden all I want to do is expand the solo guitar pieces I have written over the years into full songs and record them. I am very pleased with how things are progressing. My music is pretty varied, but mostly falls into some sort of rock and roll category from hard rock to contemporary adult rock. I use a multi-track recording software program called "Music Creator 2003" by Cakewalk to record on my computer. It's a good program but is not very intuitive and can be a bit hard to figure out sometimes. I have a Guild jumbo body acoustic guitar, an Ibanez X series electric and a Dean acoustic bass. I use an old Boss Dr. Rhythm DR-660 for my drum tracks and a borrowed Yamaha PSR- E313 YPT-310 keyboard for other sounds like strings, horns, piano and organs.
