Kettlespider have quickly catapulted themselves to the forefront of Australia’s progressive music scene. Drawing influence from a variety of genres, Kettlespider’s overall sound provides a fresh take on 1970’s progressive rock, but with a modern post-metal punch. Formed officially in 2011, the quintet made their mark in 2012 with the release of their independently released debut album, “Avadante”. "Avadante" features in the Progarchives "Top 100 Albums of 2012" chart, and has received critical acclaim in publications such as Classic Rock’s "PROG" magazine and HeavyBlogIsHeavy. Three of the album’s singles received national airplay on renowned Australian broadcaster, Triple J: no easy feat for an instrumental band. 2013 welcomed the release of two new Kettlespider singles, “The Transcent” and “Inevitable”, and saw the band complete a successful mini-tour of Victoria. The band also recorded two brand new live music videos in Melbourne’s prestigious Black Pearl Studios, available on Youtube.
