Artist
Kester Jones is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist who writes and performs songs with a folk/blues/1920s jazz/gypsy-ish slant. He has played to toe-tapping audiences from Taipei to Falmouth, and is also well-known for his hat-wearing capabilities (so much so that his hat has even developed its own personality!)... You may even have spotted him before in “Loafer” and “Icons Of Poundland”, or alongside Hayley Faye, Robin Sunflower, Lindy Woracheck, Kirsty McGee and Julian Gaskell’s “Ragged Trousered Philanthropists” (who he still makes guest appearances with when the chance arises). Kester also fronted “The Accidentals” in Taiwan and co-ran the internationally acclaimed clubnight “Idioteque Taipei”. He is now currently residing in the heart of the Iberian peninsula (Madrid) after 18 months in the Far East (and a short stint back in Blighty). His influences come from the likes of such warblers ranging from Aretha Franklin, The Band, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Booker T. & The MG's, The Bonzo Dog Band, Bright Eyes, The Clash, Davy Graham, Django Reinhardt, Elliott Smith, Elvis Presley. Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, Frank Zappa, Gogol Bordello, Hank Williams, Ian Dury & The Blockheads, Jimi Hendrix, John Martyn, The Kinks, M. Ward, Nick Drake, Neil Young, Radiohead, The Rolling Stones, Sly & The Family Stone, The Small Faces, The Specials, Tom Waits, The Waterboys, Van Morrison... Also plenty of other stuff relating to Blues, Bluegrass, Country, Folk, Garage Rock, Gypsy, Jazz, K
