Leong's musical education included studies at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal and the Juilliard School, where he worked with esteemed violinists such as Boris Kuschnir and Itzhak Perlman. In 2010, Leong gained international attention when he won first prize at the Junior Division of the Menuhin Competition, a prestigious violin competition.
