Music and a poetic performance by the band Kerkennah and a group of writers from the Mostar-based Alternative Institute and Kolaps magazine is gathered under the name Acouphene. The Acouphene project has brought together the band Kerkennah (Pascal Billot, composer and baritone/alto saxophone; Nizar Baraket, piano; Mourad Baitiche, bendir, daf, riq, tar, tamborello) and the Mostar Alternative Institute members Marko Tomaš, Mili Krpo, Nedim Čišić and Mehmed Begić. The ACOUPHENE project is the fruit of cooperation between French ethno jazz musicians, members of the band KERKENNAH and a group of writers from the Mostar-based Alternative Institute contributing to the Kolaps (Collapse) literary magazine. At first, ACOUPHENE was based on joint / mutual improvisation in the field of both music and text. Later on, in the course of the creative process the two groups of people complemented each other, namely, the existing music and text proved to be a source of mutual inspiration. The current ACOUPHENE combo consisting of musicians and writers has already had around twenty gigs in France and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Their CD with the material made in Mostar in 2004 was released in 2005 on the French Diade label.
