The band Keeping Riley is very true to their peculiar namesake; they are constantly striving to keep their music both fresh and appealing. They keep the life of riley, with both lyrics and grooves that mark their feel-good style. They keep their music dynamic by incorporating any relevant genres and approaches. The rather large, eclectic group is composed of eight highly talented musicians, all of whom have various musical backgrounds and interests. The resulting melee creates a unique blend of light rock, funk, and R&B, all tied together by a collective enthusiasm for popular music. Formed their senior year of high school in the Jersey suburbs of New York City, Keeping Riley started in 2004 with four close friends strumming guitars and hitting bongos in front of any crowd that was willing to listen. During the summer of 2007 the band released their sophomore album, lighting up the Northeast with a promotional tour. Six years, hundreds of shows, and three albums after they formed, the band has continued to experiment and evolve stylistically, incorporating a diverse array of instruments. Armed with acoustic rhythms, electric melodies, Latin and African percussion, a versatile brass section, and powerful, harmonious vocals, the group offers a unique concert experience appealing to a broad audience. Their signature sound and loyal fan base allowed them to win the 2008 Gorilla Music contest, beating over 7000 bands to gain a record deal with Rock X Records and a 35-city national
