Artist
Katie Ferrara is an indie-pop singer-songwriter from Los Angeles, California. Her influences include artists such as Joni Mitchell, Fiona Apple, Ingrid Michaelson, Meiko, and Norah Jones. Katie took up playing the acoustic guitar at the age of 16, and began singing after joining her high school choir. It was at this time she was awarded a scholarship for excellence in music, which enabled her to receive voice lessons for one year. Katie is also a graduate of Pitzer College, where she received a degree in Psychology. As a student, Katie self-released an album entitled "Cold Days, Cold Nights". She gigged in Hollywood and Pasadena playing in venues such as the Hollywood Bar and Grill and The Old Town Pub while making regular appearances at the CK café in Claremont. She also made two radio appearances on 88.7 KSPC. In 2010, Katie left the country to live London, England. During her stay, she became Featured Artist at the Spice of Life Cafe and recorded her original music with Producer Jonathan Guillaumat. She is releasing her first EP "When Love's Not Around" this fall/winter which will be available for purchase on itunes, amazon, and Spotify.
