Nine Months. This has been the period of time that the singer/songwriter Katia Dotto has taken to have the first feedbacks of her solo career. Her second EP self-entitled, independently released on July 2005, has made the singer one of the most outstanding artists in the independent scenario in the country. This EP has been produced by the bassist player Erika Nande (who has already played with Caetano Veloso, Penelope, Baby do Brasil, Jussara Silveira). They also had Raphel Miranda on the Drums (Saywoa, Luxuria) and the guitarrist Walter Villaça (Cassia Eller, Zelia Duncan, Simone) and the singer Cecilia Spyer (Gilberto Gil, Marina Lima, Lo Borges) on vocal arrengements. The record has taken a more subtle approach to rock than her debut album “Do Lado de Dentro”, with slide guitars, Upright Bass and acoustic guitars. Her partnership with Erika gave birth to 3 of the 5 songs on the record. After the reliease of the EP, Katia Dotto has gotten a recomendation as “top artist” and had her interview featured on the first page of the most well-known website for independent artists, Trama Virtual.com.br. Featured on almost every major Festivals for independent music there is, such as Humaita Pra Peixe, Laboratio Pop, London Burning, and also has gotten a spot by “public vote” on the Festival Oi Tem Peixe na Rede and toured the country along with 2 more bands.
