Karuna is a contemporary Finnish folk music trio with three players, Esko Järvelä, Juha Kujanpää’s and Teija Niku. The trio combines the sounds of Swedish national instrument nyckelharpa (keyed fiddle) and accordion with the rich harmonies of piano. They all compose for the trio, resulting in music which well represents each member’s personal style and different musical influences.
