There are at least three acts with the name Karpov, an American folk rock band, a Swedish post-punk/new wave band and a short-lived American funk/garage rock band. 1. American band that mixes rock, waltz, klezmer, and country. They're fronted by vocalist and guitarist Andre Karpov. Other band members are Joey Lewis, who plays upright bass, Aaron Novik, who plays soprano and bass clarinet, and Jarod Hermann, who plays drums and sings harmony vocals. Accordionist Sam Tsitrin is the newest addition to the lineup. 2. Swedish band formed in Örebro in 2010 by Mattias Karpov, Joel Eliason, Alexander Rydholm, Martin Henningsson and Robert Andersson, playing a mix of garage rock, post-punk and new wave. 3. A funk/garage rock band with the members James Matthew Dickey, Matthew Garfin and Paul Mathus. They released one album in 1997 and later renamed themselves Überhund.
