about

Sydney based singer-songwriter Karl Broadie was born in Edinburgh to a family of philosophers, artists and free thinkers. Despite this, Broadie felt he gravitated towards music naturally. Karl Broadie“Nothing was ever forced upon me. I chose to get on buses and travel for piano lessons at a very early age and I enjoyed it. I have never questioned playing music and writing songs. It’s embedded in me like some kind of relentless to-do list.” One Million Emeralds is the third full length album from Broadie since shifting to the southern shores of Australia. His two previous albums, Nowhere Now Here (Laughing Outlaw Records 2003) and Black Crow Callin (Universal Music Australia 2005) launched him onto the Australian music landscape, and his performances at numerous music festivals, including Port Fairy Folk Festival, Queenscliff and the Gympie Muster, resulted in expanding his already strong fan base.
