Karin Glenmark is a Swedish singer, born in 1952 and currently residing in Ystad in southern Sweden. Karin is the sister of well-known Swedish pop artist Anders Glenmark and the niece of musician, composer, producer and former record company owner Bruno Glenmark. In the 1970s, Karin was a part of the group Glenmarks which had some success in the Swedish heats for the Eurovision Song Contest. No victory, however. Also in Glenmarks were Bruno Glenmark, Ann-Louise Hansson and Anders Glenmark. In 1983 Karin performed solo in the Swedish Eurovision nomination contest, with her ballad Se, and finished 3rd behind Carola and Kikki Danielsson. The next year Karin teamed up with her brother and then finished 4th with the radio hit Kall som is. Kall som is was included as an album track on Karins solo album Mitt innersta rum in 1984, which marked Karin's debut as a solo album performer. In 1985 and 1987 Karin and Anders released the albums Gemini and Geminism as pop duo Gemini. The songs were written by ABBA's Benny Andersson & Björn Ulvaeus and Anders. The biggest hit came in 1987 with Mio My Mio from the film of the same name, featuring among others Christian Bale. Karin has been involved in musical productions, such as the concert versions of Chess, and a Swedish version of Les Misérables in Stockholm in 1990-1991.
