Kardia Mortis was formed in 2009 by guitarist Fernan Wolfgang Cobian and vocalist Terri Kennedy after working together in the medieval middle eastern project Ansuz. Their sound spans a variety of melodic alternative indie rock styles including gothic rock and pan Islamic influenced rock to more aggressive tracks with death rock and metal tinges. Wolfgang's numerous previous musical endeavors explored a variety of traditional pan Islamic music with Rennaisance Faire favorites Baba Kou, blues rock and punk, while Terri is known for her work in seminal gothic rock band Stone 588, Dichroic Mirror, 80's era punk, and also currently with Strychnine FX. The fourpiece is rounded out by bassist Sean Jones (who previously performed as vocalist for L.A. goth/punk band Bloodpenny and in musical theater) and Erin O'Sullivan on drums. Kardia Mortis has performed at a variety of Los Angeles venues including Club Vicious, Que Sera, Blue Cafe, Deadcadence, The Joint and others.
