Kanaloa is an acoustic folk ethnic band started in Jakarta, Indonesia, in 2010, by Geri Jenerie (guitar), Dewi Ramadhina (vocals and tenor recorder), and Aga Rasyidi (guitar). The orginal name of the band was "Kanaloa", which derived from Hawaiian Goddess name. Kanaloa name stands for the old Polynesian sea god of death, darkness, water, and squid. And also considered to be the god of the Underworld and a teacher of magic. The purpose is that the spirit behind the name shall help the band to create music that can enchant the audience and make them feels like living in a dream.
