about

Consisting of three members, David Scurr, John Kamevaar and Thomas Handy, Kaiser Nietzsche was an experimental electronic music group connected with the Canadian industrial label Freedom In A Vacuum. The group emerged in the late 80s with the goal of combining modern electroacoustic sounds with older musique concrète-school. The name "Kaiser Nietzsche" refers to German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche's way of signing some of his letters "Kaiser Nietzsche" or "Nietzsche Caesar" in the late 19th century. One of these letters is recited on the track "Sprechen Sie Zarathustran?" Discography: Kaiser Nietzsche (cassette, 1987) Signal To Noise Ratio (cassette, 1988) Heterology (LP, 1989) Non Plus Ultra (cassette, 1989) Split with Yuzuru Syogase (LP, 1994) User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
