In the past, Kaino aka Niko Ryhanen has been working on his Aphilas project and released a 12 inch of mellow and soulful downtempo gems on the US label Merck. His solo project Kaino is a step forward towards a more refined sound, also providing nuggets for the dancefloor. We do not really know how to compare him with anything, but that says it all! Productionwise, Kaino is familiar with various instruments as well as the sampler. The songs on his forthcoming 7 inch and album are infused with a beautiful melancholy feel, but also include that tounge-in-cheek danceloor funking, featuring a seducing blend of slick soul, jazz & latin samples.
