Kaat&Daan, both are 16, started writing their own songs in April 2008. When they had collected a small repertoire, they played on several local parties and festivals, such as het Festival van de Lach, Mish-mash festival, … After one month they recorded their own demo and sent it out. In this way they got to the finals of ‘ Het Groot Geweld” in the Vismarkt in Brussels. In August they made their debut on Studio Brussel and were selected-by Milow and Tom Helsen amongst others- for the finals of the “Stella Music Buskers” on Marktrock. In the beginning of October 2008 Kaat&Daan won the big ‘Tom Helsen Contest”! As a result they could be in three concerts of Tom Helsen’s tour. After no more than two of their performances Tom decided that Kaat&Daan were going to be in his complete tour. In 2009 Tom Helsen is releasing a new album with his favourite Belgian singers. Kaat has been selected to sing a song on this new release.
