South Florida just got hotter! KP da Money Man is heating things up from the bottom. KP, 25 year-old Michael Pierre, was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, FL. His smooth yet gritty southern-style hip hop draws influences from artists like Master P, Hot Boyz, UGK, and Trick Daddy. KP has just released his newest mixtape Independent Money: Reloaded, which includes the single “Moving On (Got It)” featuring Universal Republic recording artist Black Dada. The single will also be featured on the “It Is What It Is” mixtape series, a compilation of emerging underground artists. KP was always fascinated with music growing up and developed a taste for hip hop at a young age. By the age of 15 KP had dozens of notebooks full of his rhymes. When he was 16 he was recruited by his older brother and some friends to form his first group, the Grave Yard Boyz (GYB’z). After the group broke up KP was quickly picked up by local indie label Play House Records. KP Da Money Man released his first official compilation called "Life is a Struggle" with Playhouse and he soon became the face of the label. His quick success led him to traveling with New Orleans rapper and superstar Juvenile and his UTP click and recording several collaborative works such as "Around My Way" with Skip (of UTP), and "Do What You Do" with Wacko (of UTP). ).
