Defined as an "everything but the kitchen sink" type of band, the sound of Nashville's KNAPSACKHEROES! is a hybrid of dance rock, new wave synth pop, experimental electronics, and hip-hop. With themes that run the gamut, the K! have stepped into a void needed to be filled ... intelligent dance music that appeals to the masses. An all but lost tradition begun by the band Blondie with their classic song "Rapture". The band consists of five misfits with a love for music and an eclectic mindset. These braves souls are known as Vinyl Jones (lead vocals, keys & production), Eric Coomer (lead vocals, keys & guitar), Kevin Tetuan (guitar, keys & bgv's), Nick Waugh (bass, bgv's) and Justin Paul Mitchell (drums, percussion). "I grew up in the 80's with an obsession for hip-hop, but at the same time it wouldn't be unusual to find me listening to the latest from Duran Duran or The Eurythmics. This is a musical heritage that the band and I share," Jones says. "There is a whole generation of people who grew up with this same musical experience, and it's only now starting to manifest in the diversity we're seeing on the Billboard charts." Jones adds, "These days, it seems like 70 percent of the college kids who are buying The Ting Ting's & Kings Of Leon are also buying Kanye West or The Cool Kids ... good music is simply good music, no matter the style." KNAPSACKHEROES! have shared the stage with national acts such as Jonezetta, Seabird, Red, John Reuben, Framing Hanley, Kevin Max and MC
