Born Kenneth Richardson the 21st of February in 1989 in Trinidad. He is a versatile artiste who's making a statement on the soca scene at just 22 years old. Performing under the soubriquet, “K.Rich,” Richards' single "Nothing Less" is already sizzling on radio stations across the country in advance of Carnival 2012. The song was written and produced by GBM Productions, the creative genius behind Machel Montano's "Bend Over," and Shal Marshall's "Trouble." Born in Staten Island, New York on February 21st, 1989, Richards migrated to Florida with his Trini born mother where he got his first exposure to Trinidadian culture, vis-a-vis Miami Carnival. By age 5, he was already a masquerader, and by age 7, had won second place for Junior King of Carnival. Three years later, he and his family migrated to Trinidad where he was immersed into the soca industry by observing the success of his stepfather, Austin 'Superblue' Lyons. Witnessing the creation, in the studio, of Superblue’s Road March hits and his many Soca Monarch performances, definitely influenced the awe-struck young boy's love for soca. Richards is bursting onto the soca scene with experience in different genres of music under his belt. Having had a brief appearance as the lead singer for local rock band 5 Miles to Midnight from November 2008 to December 2009, Richards introduced the genre of soca music to their repertoire.
