Just Standing is a Rock/Hard Rock/Alternative band from Chesapeake, Virginia. At the time, (summer of 2011) Drew Varner was guitarist and vocalist. Daniel Barnett was a guitarist and vocalist too. The two switched positions for certain songs and sometimes both played guitar and/or sang at the same time. Connor Burch was on bass guitar and AJ Torres was on drums. Years later the band broke up due to internal issues with members and band commitment. In April 15, 2013, the band got back together but replaced Daniel Barnett with guitarist Travis Gates. Just Standing also tried out female vocalist, Bethel Boss. But that didn't last long. She quit the band after the first show as the new group. Just Standing's music is hugely influenced by rock music. Drew Varner and Daniel Barnett grew up together and had brought their rock, grunge, and metal music style to the band. Coincidently every other member shared almost the same exact music taste. Connor Burch and AJ Torres also liked those genres of music, but additionally brought their heavy punk influence to the band. Newer (2013) guitarist Travis Gates was mainly inspired by bands like Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and Jimmy Hendricks. All these sounds combine into the one-of-a-kind band known as Just Standing. Some elements of Just Standing's music include various vocal harmonies, shredding electric guitar solos, strong and complex bass grooves, and great drumming with technical fills.
