James Queally - Vocals Miguel Commissiong – Guitars Rob Pillans – Bass Daniel Santapaga - Drums Arising from the musically fragmented and sub-genre rich New York City, Junkyard Luxury stands out with the style and simplicity of playing Rock and Roll. In the summer of 2009, singer James Queally (formerly Seven Second Delay) stopped by the apartment of his friends Miguel Commissiong (formerly of Socket) and Rob Pillans (formerly of Socket) to invite them to join him in a new musical endeavor as guitarist and bassist, respectively. Daniel Santapaga (of The Dufresnes) was soon inducted into the group as the dummer. It wasn’t long until Junkyard Luxury tested their material in front of a crowd. The response only reinforced the passion and drive of the young men. The music resonated with people, and Junkyard Luxury quickly gathered a consistent crowd at their gigs and gained attention online as well. While many of their songs are influenced by blues, grunge, and hard rock, all of them are indisputably rock and roll. With songs ranging in emotion and depth from the classic ‘she done me wrong’ style blues to referencing Moby Dick and Greek mythology, Junkyard Luxury is able to convey a range of sounds and ideas under their own distinct style. Junkyard Luxury is currently writing material and playing shows in the greater NYC area. They plan to give away a 5 track demo in 2010.
