In 2001, a group of four European jazz musicians traveled to Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, and recruited several Ethiopian musicians to record with them a hybrid of traditional Ethiopian music and jazz. In 2003, their recording was released internationally as the 15th volume in the "Ethiopiques" album series.
