Jubing Kristianto lives in Jakarta, Indonesia. His first guitar teachers was his parents. He started to learn classical guitar seriously at the age 12 under Mr. Suhartono Lukito, and then Mr. Arthur Sahelangi. Both are now guitar instructors from Yayasan Musik Indonesia (under Yamaha Music Foundation license). Jubing has grade 3 (the highest grade) certificate in Yamaha Classical Guitar Examination, but also play non-classical music and he has arranged popular songs for classical guitar. Some of the pieces did help him to win the Yamaha Indonesia Guitar Festival in free section or non-classical section (1987, 1992, 1994, and 1995).
