Influenced by Gary Numan's visual style and sound, Joy Circuit explores the connections between man and machine with their blend of synthesized soundscapes, big rhythm and sonorous vocals. Joy Circuit had their start in the fertile Northeast Ohio eighties music scene that had launched DEVO and Chrissie Hynde. Relentlessly working the original music club scene, they played 120 shows in three years, building an audience of JoyBoys and CircuitGirls who filled the clubs. Joy Circuit has shared stages with Thomas Dolby, Donny Iris and the Cruisers, and Trent Reznor's band prior to Nine Inch Nails, The Exotic Birds. Two Joy Circuit videos became popular, charting in the burgeoning New York VJ club scene back when MTV played music videos!
