Joshua Hart Lykins composes original piano/orchestral scores primarily for use in film and television while simultaneously creating and publishing his original compositions via full-length Artist-Albums and compilations. His sounds and themes have been referred to as somber, thoughtful pieces that reach for the deeper emotions within the listener, most always maintaining a trademark feeling of melancholic nostalgia. In his own words, "...most of the compositions are written for a calm, sentimental environment as musings on all things sincerely meaningful to the human heart – love, loss, fear, hope, loneliness..." His introduction to the music business came as a direct result of a lifelong passion for film, he explains "I can't begin to express my tremendous respect for the many composers out there that take already highly meaningful moving pictures/stories and through their interpretations of those moments supply the sounds that enhance the art, delivering it to an even greater realm of beauty."
