Josef Lhevinne (born 13 December 1874, died 2 December 1944) was a Russian pianist, and music teacher, of considerable technical mastery. He studied at the Imperial Conservatory in Moscow, and won the gold medal for piano in 1892, beating out fellow classmates Sergei Rachmaninoff and Alexander Scriabin.
