Artist
José Tornada is a pianist, composer and producer who at the age of 19 gave up studying architecture and moved to London to pursue a career in music. In the United Kingdom he gave his first concerts and composed for films and television, working with producers such as Warner Bros, BBC, FOX, MTV, AXN, VH1 and CBS. It was also in London that he released his first albums through Urban Outfitters UK, Rimeout Records Japan and Optimus Discos Portugal. Back in Portugal, it is with the indie/rock project Los Waves that José Tornada steps onto the stages of CCB, Paredes de Coura, NOS Alive, Sudoeste and Aula Magna. Only a decade into his musical career did Tornada once again rediscover his interest in classical and instrumental music, rescuing the melodic simplicity of his childhood. With the aim of exploring music in its simplest and purest state, he isolated himself in the rural Alentejo for a year to compose his first classical music album. This is how "Visions" was born, the single that gives its name to José Tornada's debut EP, it is a track that is born from the search for an essence and sound identity. The work is built with the identity and interpretation of what, for Tornada, is contemporary classical music. Having been greatly influenced by the soundtracks of games and anime from his childhood in the 90s, by the cadence of Carlos Paredes, by the Radiohead chords discovered in his adolescence, by the production and composition experience acquired in adulthood.
