Jordi Masó is a spanish-catalan pianist (Search on last.fm with this spelling). Jordi Masó was born in Granollers (Barcelona. Spain). He studied at the Conservatory of this town with Josep Mª Ruera and Josep Mª Roger, at the Barcelona School of Music with the pianist Albert Attenelle, and at the Royal Academy of Music of London with Christopher Elton and Nelly Akopian, graduating in 1992 with the DipRAM, the highest distinction of the academy. He won first prizes in many National and International competitions. He has performed extensively in most European countries in piano recitals and in chamber music concerts. He is regularly invited to play with the most important Spanish orchestras. Praised by the prestigious music critic Harold Schonberg as "a skilfull and strong pianist", Jordi Masó has a huge repertoire covering all periods and styles, with special emphasis on music of the twentieth century. He has given first performances of many piano works by the foremost Spanish living composers and has been the dedicatee of many of their piano works. He recorded over twenty discs, praised by Gramophone, Fanfare, Penguin Guide, Le Monde de la Musique, BBC Music Magazine, Rondo Magazine and other publications. His many acclaimed recordings include the 1993 world première recording of the complete works for piano of Robert Gerhard on Marco Polo, from 1997 to 2000 four discs with the complete piano music by Frederic Mompou on Naxos (selling more than 50,000 copies all around th
