Jonas Saari is a Finnish singer/songwriter born in 1985. His songs have a strong lyrical focus and indeed lyrics hold great importance to him but his music is also driven by the need to express those words through melodies that touch and take the listener beyond just words. Emotions and songs cannot in his mind be conveyed or communicated to others unless there is a good melody, a catchy rhythm or something of the sort. His influences include such folk artists from the 60´s as Leonard Cohen, Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan, Nick Drake, Simon & Garfunkel as well as musicians of today such as John Mayer, Damien Rice, Dave Matthews, Nick Cave, Brad Roberts, Teitur, Jack Johnson, Kings of Convenience and David Gray. Currently he is working on an album entitled "Current" and it will be released in the beginning of 2008.
