With family on both the father's and mother's side in Järvsöbacken came his upbringing to switch between Gastrikland and Hälsingland. Music in general and folk music, in particular, came early to become a big part of Jonas's life. In the mid 90's moved Jonas and his family home to Järvsöbacken and after a few years, they came to take over the family farm in Pellpärs Kåsjö Jonas put no limits in their music and was very productive as a composer and arranger. With a passion for old-time musicians and their songs, he devoted much time to visit relatives to old tradition bearers. He interviewed, took notes and drew down the music he encountered. He was not content with just finding the songs, but also wanted to get to know the musicians behind the music. He saw themselves as a link in a long chain of tradition. A link like all previous characterized by their contemporaries. A contemporary consisting of encounters between people and their music. A music without borders between provinces, nations and generations. March 23, 2010 Jonas died suddenly. Unexpectedly. Right in step.
