Artist
Jonas Cepulis was born in a small town of Moletai (Lithuania). Growing up in a nearby Giedraiciai he received his first guitar as a gift when he was only 10 years old. Guitar became his life-time companion and in that tender age he began to write lyrics and play his first rock ballads together with his childhood friend Kristijonas Noreika. Eventually the idea of a band "Sillence" was born, where Jonas was the soloist and Kristijonas supported the guitar parts. In 2003 Jonas joined a melodic rock band "Ruination" and his vocals are featured on the album "Beyond" released in 2005. At the time of the album appearance in the market Jonas had taken part on a reality music show "Dangus" ("The Sky"), which opened the doors to bigger music career possibilities and public recognition. On the "Dangus" site he met Rasa Bubulyte, another participant (and later the winner of the show). The pair of them had hit it off as a duo and in 2006 their vision culminated in an unforgettable folk rock project "Saulala raudona (Red sun)". The following year debut had made it into the "Radiocentras 2007 Awards" with not one but TWO nominations and received the awards for Best Alternative and Best Debut. In November 2006 Jonas releases his solo double album called "Savas. Nesvetimas. (My own, Not foreign)". All of the early work created by Jonas prior to the moment was included into this album. All inspirations, feelings and memories of youth, so dear to the artist that he refused to leave any songs
