Jon's love for music began at an early age when he started to play the violin at the age of 4, then soon after the piano which took him to the renowned Chetham's School of Music in Manchester. During his musical education and the profound effect from losing his father in 1990, a passion for singing developed, so his desire to further that passion continued at The Royal Northern College of Music as a Major Scholarship recipient. Having studied with the finest teachers in Europe and the UK, Jon embarked upon a solo career in the field of Opera where he has taken leading operatic roles at home and abroad in many operas which include: Janacek's Jenufa (Steva), Puccini's La Boheme (Rodolfo), Mozart's The Magic Flute (Tamino), Britten's Albert Herring (Albert and Mr Upfold), Donizetti's L'Elisir D'amore (Nemorino) and, at the prestigious Aix-en-Provence music festival, Rossini's The Barber of Seville (Count Almaviva).Very much in demand on the concert platform Jon has performed practically every major Oratorio including Handel's Messiah, Elgar's The Dream of Gerontius and The Kingdom, Bach's St. John and St. Mathew Passions, Mozart's and Verdi's Requiems, at venues such as The Royal Albert Hall, Symphony Hall, The Royal Festival Hall, The Philharmonic Hall and The Bridgewater Hall. The release of Jon's debut album "Northern Light" in 2006 was accompanied by the showing of a Granada TV documentary 'Chasing The Dream' giving a superb insight not only into Jon Christos the man, but
