Album Notes As "Jon & Randy", Jon Osorio and the late Randy Borden were a legendary contemporary Hawaiian duo. HAWAIIAN EYES was a showcase for the composing skills and beautiful timeless harmonies this Na Hoku Hanohano Award winning pair. Superb lyrics, rich beautiful voices, accompanied by sweet harmonica, catchy flute and percussion, smooth sax, classical guitar, and the sweet sounds of real strings courtesy of the Honolulu Symphony. Included are the classic and timeless "Hawaiian Eyes" and "Hawaiian Soul". The title track, composed by Hilo native Jon Osorio, now a Ph.D. Hawaiian scholar, and Randy Borden, who tragically passed away from cancer in 1997, took the 1981 Na Hoku Hanohano Award for Song of the Year.
