Jolly Mortals was a band from Richmond, VA active from around 1992. The first incarnation of the band consisted of David Didonato sharing guitar and vocal duties, Sean Sutphin on drums, John 'Blade' Swart - the other half of the band's rhythm section. Their first 'official' release was a four-way split 7" on Whirled Records, followed by an EP named 'Paintscraper'. After the band went to Glass Hand Studios to record their part of a 12" compilation Jolly Mortals embarked on a short tour with their fellows Whirlybird. Jolly Mortals broke up shortly afterwards marking their end with a session recorded at the 'Jolly Home' on a 4-track.
