Joint Family is a Nu-metal band hailing from New Delhi, India. They are widely influenced by bands like Slipknot, Korn, Deftones, Coal Chamber, Mudvayne, Fear Factory, Stone Sour,A Perfect Circle etc. Joint Family became widely known after their track "Life's a Bitch" was associated with the music of the 2015 film Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! Starting out with a 'different' band name,Rohit and Rahul wanted to form a nu-metal band because there was no such act in Delhi during that time. They met Clarence at a gig at a local pub who shared a similar interest. Clarence got his friend Akshay to do the vocals and the only element left was that of a drummer who shared their passion. So Rahul, roped in from his other band(Cyanide's) drummer, Shardul. And that's how Joint Family was formed around the end of December 2004. For their first gig, JF played at the 'Egos Cafe' where they got an enthusiastic response for the metal-hungry crowd that had gathered with tense mosh-pits and bodies flying everywhere. Needless to say, it was a beginning with a bang.Thus,Delhi's premier Nu-metal act came to life. Within a couple of months of forming, the band had made a impact on the scene that could never be forgotten with milestones like - 1. Ego's Cafe, Jan '05 - the very first gig. 2. Headlined at S.P.A.
