Since their conception in October of 2004, Johnny O & the Jerks have been busy stomping around the bars and basements of St. Louis and bringing their trashy brand of rock and roll to the forefront of the music scene. Their ..perfected blend of rockabilly riffs, zombie howl blues, and swampland vocals.. (The Riverfront Times) has been packing punk rock bars for the past year, assuring St. Louis that Midwest rock and roll goes far beyond Chuck Berry. Johnny O & the Jerks.. self-released debut album, Taking Out the Trashabilly, has been consistently among the top sellers in St. Louis. It sold in the top ten punk albums for over seven months at St. Louis.. historic independent record store, Vintage Vinyl, until the original 300 pressings of the CD were completely sold out. It has since been rereleased on St. Louis' own Big Muddy Records. The Jerks live show has become their trademark with their high energy sets and spontaneous song changes. They have shared the stage with national acts like the Bloody Hollies (New York), the Cops (Seattle), Peelander-Z (New York), and the Coffin Lids (Boston), and have never ceased to impress. Along with fellow Big Muddy artists the Vultures, 7 Shot Screamers, and Casey Reid, the Jerks have been bringing high-energy rock and roll to the basements, bars, and skating rinks of St. Louis in an effort the spread the spirit of rock and roll.
