Well known as a featured vocalist in the 40s and 50s for both the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra and Jack Pleis and His Orchestra. Johnny's charismatic performances extended beyond his silky smooth voice. In 1968 Amoroso teamed with NYC songwriters Louis de Pasquale and Zelda Cohen.He was also an equally gifted and sought after brass player. Amoroso manned the trumpet and trombone for Bing Crosby throughout the 50s, and in 1961 played the prominent solo featured on Bing’s hit rendition of the Sammy Kaye classic “Welcome Home.” Johnny Amoroso was still performing as recently as 2012.
