Artist
Jazz vocalist John Vance released his first album, "It's All Right With Me" on Erawan Records, in October 2003. That project was followed by a second Erawan release, "Dreamsville," in July 2007. Born in Frankfurt, Germany, John was raised primarily in Arlington, VA. He began studying classical piano at an early age, but was influenced by all types of music. A local Washington, D.C. radio station, WMAL, had a late night jazz program he discovered while in high school, and John was hooked. Favorite jazz vocalists during those formative years were: Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson, Carmen McRae, and Mel Torme. John has had the great fortune to work with pianist Jeff Colella on both his recording projects. Jeff is perhaps best known as Lou Rawls' longtime musical director.
