Artist
John Stanford is a New Zealand electronic music artist known for combining hypnotic beats with layered, textured soundscapes. His work reflects influences from popular music, hard rock, and later house and dance music. A significant point in his musical development came with the discovery of Robert Miles’ work, which inspired his interest in electronic and trance-based sounds. Stanford began his musical education with piano and guitar and later studied music at Victoria University in New Zealand, where he purchased his first keyboard and expanded into composition and electronic production. While his style draws on elements of European club music, his approach often incorporates a visual or atmospheric dimension. His debut album, Deep Space, released on White Cloud Records, marked his first major contribution to the electronic music scene.
