A Bit of History: Most of you know me from the Instructional DVDs, but did you know that I started teaching music at the age of 13? Giving private guitar instruction out of my parents’ house, I spent the cash I earned on pizza and soda for my friends; I thought I was Donald Trump! In 1985 – when VHS videos became popular – the idea of teaching lessons to the masses was born. With big hair and spandex, and my parents’ living room serving as a backdrop, I created four, fairly successful instructional programs. With guitar magazine advertisements, the business was on its way. In 1995, I felt this system of teaching was working, but could use a boost. Looking toward the future – and, finding that the Internet would play a key role in everyday life – my interest peaked towards online instruction. But, the package still wasn’t complete. With the rise in popularity of the DVD, I sensed that this could be the final piece to our programs. After mounds of research, we recognized this powerful, dynamic medium was the future of teaching. DVD instruction, featuring full Internet support, created what The Rock House Method is today. The Internet is cool, but I really feel that people need to have hard goods that they could learn with 24-7 and
